U.S. Treasury Securities

The U.S. Treasury offers several different types of securities. These investments range from a few day to 30 years. Depending on your investment goals, the U.S. Treasury secruities can offer you a safe and reliable investment. Below are the different types of securities currently available.

  • Treasury Bills
    • Short term government securities ranging from a few days up to 52 weeks.
  • Treasury Notes
    • Government securities that are issued with maturity dates ranging from 2, 3, 5, 7 and 10 years. These securities pay interest every 6 months.
  • Treasury Bonds
    • Long term securities 30 year maturity dates. These bonds pay interest every 6 months.
  • Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS)
    • Securities with maturity dates of 5, 10 and 20 years. TIPS are marketable securities whose price is adjusted by the Consumer Price Index.
